Features · Identity capture

Capture your guests’ identity at check-in, in seconds

The PUI Law requires you to register who stays: CURP, full name, date of birth and ID document. PUIhoteles captures it with no friction — you scan the ID, we validate the data and it is stored in your encrypted registry.

Exactly what data the law asks for (and what it does not)

PUI asks for the minimum identity needed to locate a person: CURP, full name, date of birth and an ID document. For Mexican guests that document is the INE; for foreigners, a passport or migratory form (FMM) plus their nationality. Nothing more.

What the law does NOT ask for matters just as much: no card data, no spending, no guest preferences. PUI is about security and finding people, not marketing or billing. PUIhoteles captures only what the law requires, and none of what it does not.

In practice, this happens at the front desk in under five minutes. Your receptionist does not have to become a legal expert: the system asks for the right fields based on the guest type and stores everything in the format PUI expects.

How you capture each type of guest

Mexicans and foreigners, each with the right document.

Mexican guest

CURP and INE. The system validates that the CURP has the correct format before storing it.

Foreign guest

Passport or migratory form (FMM) plus nationality. The law expressly allows it and the system already supports it.

ID scanning

Read the INE or passport with the camera and get the data with no typing, reducing capture errors.

Format validation

We verify the CURP and document structure so your registry stays clean and complete.

Front-desk capture, step by step

Designed so your front desk keeps its rhythm.

  1. 1. The guest arrivesAt check-in, the system opens identity capture alongside the reservation.
  2. 2. You scan or typeRead the ID with the camera or enter the data. The system asks for the right fields based on whether the guest is national or foreign.
  3. 3. We validate instantlyThe CURP and document format are checked; if something is off, you are warned before saving.
  4. 4. It lands in your registryThe identity is stored encrypted in your registry, ready for any query or audit.

Frictionless capture, a registry with no gaps

Fast for your team, complete for the law.

No slowing check-in

Capture is built into the arrival flow; your front desk keeps serving at the same pace.

No need to be an expert

The system knows what to ask in each case; your receptionist does not need to know the law in detail.

Only what the law requires

We capture identity, not cards or spending. Fewer sensitive data points, less risk.

Questions about identity capture

What if the foreign guest has no CURP?
They are registered with their passport or migratory form (FMM) plus their nationality. The law expressly provides for it and PUIhoteles already supports it — no CURP needed.
Do I have to ask for their card or spending data?
No. PUI asks for no card data, spending or preferences. Only identity: CURP, name, date of birth and document.
Do I need a special scanner?
It is not required. You can read the ID with the device camera or enter the data by hand; scanning only speeds things up and reduces errors.
How long does it take to capture a guest?
Usually under five minutes, built into the check-in you already do. The goal is for your front desk not to lose its rhythm.
What if I capture a field wrong?
The system validates the CURP and document format before saving, so it catches most errors on the spot. If you need to fix it, you can edit the record in your registry.
